Video Call - To - Action: Why and How to Use It
With the level of information and resources found on the internet these days, teams can learn how to make decent marketing videos in a matter of months.
However, when it comes to expert video marketing that is highly effective, experienced product videographers will tell you that it is essential to reach customers: a Call-To-Action, also known as a CTA.
Why are CTAs important? Sometimes you think a product video speaks for itself in inviting viewers to purchase your product. But usually, viewers need that subtle extra push to go from considering your product to deciding on it. If you observe some of the most successful product videos out there, you’ll see a CTA in some form or another. So here’s how to best use CTAs:
Use Rare, Specific, and Effective CTAs
Using CTAs too often on the same platform, whether it’s a website, blog, or a social media page, can confuse many audiences. For example, if you put a CTA on your brand’s website’s homepage, it can confuse a customer looking for a different page. Instead, think about where it is most important to place a CTA. Don’t make the mistake of putting them everywhere and giving your customers mixed signals.
Keep CTAs Focused and Relevant
On the topic of mixed signals, make sure the CTA in your video is focused on what you want them to do and in line with the rest of the video. It doesn’t make much sense to have a product video with a CTA towards your website instead of straight to your eCommerce page where they can already purchase the product. If you confuse your audience, they can quickly give up on trying to buy a product.
Use CTAs for Audience Retention
As you must know by now, audience attention spans are very short, and a lot of other video content out there is competing with you for that attention. CTAs are very effective when put at the start of the video because it will be one of the first things that your audience will get an impression of.
Make CTAs Short and Sweet
For the same reason as our previous point, CTAs are best done short and sweet. That way, they will be apparent, strong, easy to remember, and brief enough so that your audience won’t feel like you’re forcing the point upon them.
Any video production company or team will tell you that compelling videos will get the point across in a creative yet precise manner. Keep these CTA tips in mind for more effective video marketing!
